Spanish success for local students

DURING May half-term, 41 students and six members of staff from South Holderness Technology College travelled to Platja d’aro in Spain for the school’s annual sports tour.

All students impressed with their energy and skills during the tour. The boys’ football team gave commendable performances against some excellent Spanish and English teams, making new friends along the way.
The Year 8 netball team came second in their tournament, impressing both SHTC staff and Activ4 coaches with their teamwork, skills and enthusiasm, despite not having played together before.

The mixed Year 9 and 10 team fought hard and made enormous progress throughout the older years’ tournament. However, the real success story came from the Year 9 netball team, who brought home the trophy from their tournament without losing a match, wowing the Activ4 staff in the process and making the school incredibly proud with their skills and attitude.

In addition to competing in numerous tournaments, students also enjoyed trips to the Nou Camp Stadium and one of Spain’s biggest water parks.

Well done SHTC! We look forward to next year’s event in Italy.
